From the moment I opened the pages of Enid Blyton's 'Famous Five ' series, Frances Burnett's 'The Secret Garden' and my tattered copy of 'Pinocchio' I was captivated by the magic of storytelling.
Currently, I'm embarking on a new chapter in my creative journey. I'm passionate about writing fiction tailored to the imaginative minds of children and crafting enchanting picture books that transport readers to fantastical worlds.
So, whether you're here to explore my illustrations, embark on a literary adventure with me, or simply share in the joy of creativity, welcome to my world. Together, let's embark on a journey where stories come to life, and the possibilities are as boundless as the imagination itself.
When I was a student I was very much influenced by artists such as Carl Larsson, Arthur Rackham, Aubrey Beardsley and Maurice Sendak. My favourite contemporary author/illustrators are Oliver Jeffers and Anna Kemp.
I won the Times Educational Award for 'Tournaments', a beautifully written book by Richard Barber on Medieval Tournaments. I've illustrated 'The King of Kennelwick Castle' and 'The King's Toothache.'by Colin West, 'The Blue Rose' by Maurice Baring, 'Boy without a name,' by Penelope Lively, The 'Twelve Dancing Princesses' by Anne Carter, 'The Adventures of Andy Aardvark,' by James Charlton and a popup book 'Lift and See ABC' designed by Michael Haines. I've also written and illustrated 'This is the Way,' 'Prince Star' and 'Dinosaurs shouldn't eat Kitchen Playsets.'
Apart from books I've designed posters for Cambridge University Press and illustrated for 'Cash' a German financial newspaper. I've exhibited at the David Paul Gallery in Chichester, the Cork Street Gallery and the Chris Beetles Gallery in London.
